      FAA Remote ID Rule:

Background on Remote ID: The FAA's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Remote Identification of Unmanned Aircraft Systems was published on December 31, 2019. The FAA received over 53,000 comments during the 60-day comment period following publication and considered them while crafting the final rule.

Before September 16, 2023, FAA Extends the Remote ID Enforcement Date Six Months to March 16, 2024 (the original date is September 16, 2023), after that date, operators could face fines and suspension or revocation of pilot certificates.

      What is Remote ID?

Remote ID is a system that requires your drone to transmit a signal containing its identification and location information to others. Think of it as your drone's way of saying, 'Hey, I'm here!'

Now, there are two types of drones that need to comply with this requirement:

      A. Standard Remote ID drone: These drones come with built-in Remote ID broadcast capabilities, such as HS600.

      B. Drone with a Remote ID broadcast module: This is an upgrade option for your existing drone.

Who needs to use Direct/Broadcast Remote ID?

For those of us in the United States, if your drone weighs more than 249 grams (0.55 pounds), you'll need to comply with the Remote ID regulations starting from March 16, 2024.

If you have drones at home that require a Remote ID module, welcome to check out the Holy Stone Remote ID module.

Our RID modules offer the following benefits:

Placement of Holy Stone Remote ID Module

To ensure the best GPS performance, the ideal placement spot for your drone may vary depending on the model. Here are some guidelines:

      1. Avoid Areas Close to Propellers: Prevent potential damage by keeping the GPS module away from the drone's propellers.

      2. Stay Clear of Electronic Parts: Avoid overlaying or getting too close to electronic components to maintain signal integrity.

      3. Choose an Accessible and Visible Spot: Opt for a location that is easy to access and clearly visible for setup and maintenance.

Pro Tip: For optimal GPS signal strength, consider placing the module on the flat upper surface of the drone. Keep in mind that the optimal placement for the RID varies by model.

      HS700E/HS700D: In the middle

      HS720/HS720E: In the middle

      HS720G/HS720R: Near either end

      HS600: In the front

Tip: If using a different drone brand

Reach out to the manufacturer or seller to confirm the GPS module's location. When installing the Remote ID module, avoid proximity to the GPS module to prevent signal interference and potential disruptions.
